VOLUNTEERING...
Volunteering in motorsport is one of the best ways to get closer to the action. What’s not to like about getting free access to events, spending more time doing what you love, making new friends and having fun? From the paddock to track-side and behind the scenes our volunteering team ensures that meetings run smoothy and new volunteers are always welcome to come and join in at all our competitive and social events.
New to marshalling?
No experience or equipment is necessary, just bring along a stout pair of boots, and we’ll pair you with an experienced marshal or volunteer to help guide you on the day. Suitable roles are available for Under-18s too.
STARTLINE
Help get the cars into position on the startline, and watch them blast off up the hill.
HILL MARSHAL
Get close to the action and assist should any incidents occur as the cars tackle Shelsley’s famous 1000 yards in pursuit of a hill record.
PADDOCK
Mingle with the throngs of drivers and mechanics in Shelsley’s historic paddock, helping to ensure cars are ready to make their way to the startline in the correct order in good time.
SOCIAL
Be a welcoming face to the thousands of visitors to Shelsley Walsh, such as by helping to sell programmes or by serving customers in our gift shop.
SPECIALISTS
A qualified specialist, or looking to get yourself involved? Opportunities available in scrutineering, timekeeping, course control, as clerk of the course and recovery.
NON-COMPETITIVE
EVENTS
All our non-competitive events such as Chill on the Hill, Breakfast Clubs and our Driving Schools require volunteers; come along and experience Shelsley at its most relaxed.
